Because of this, each individual has their own personalized goals we work to achieve. While all aspects are personalized, there are some common objectives we strive to improve upon.

• CIRCULATION:
– Combat against AD (Autonomic Dysreflexia)
– Fortify skin integrity & sensation to prevent pressure sores

• BONE DENSITY
– Strengthens weak bones
– Reduces the risk of fractures
– Improves production of blood cells which in turn help the immune system
– Posture can improve

• BOWEL ROUTINE

• SENSITIVITY/REDUCTION TO MEDICATIONS

• POSSIBLE GAIN IN MUSCLE FUNCTION

• Improve ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living)

• Gait training

• Balance & Agility

• Maintain joint integrity

• ENHANCE PROPRIOCEPTION (The ability to sense your body regarding position, motion, and equilibrium.)

• BALANCE/GAIT TRAINING
– Builds skill and confidence to reduce fear of falling

• DROP FOOT
– Reduces the risk of tripping

• CORE STRENGTH

• POSTURE AWARENESS

• JOINT INTEGRITY

Although MS & PD are 2 separate diseases, they are both degenerative in nature and have a common thread of conditions that we address.

• BALANCE & GAIT TRAINING

• MUSCLE ENDURANCE & STRENGTH
– Increasing muscle endurance reduces the onset of overwhelming fatigue common in MS

• PROLONG EFFECTS OF THE DEGENERATIVE DISEASES

• REDUCE MUSCLE SPASMS, TREMORS, & STIFFNESS
– Onset of extreme stiffness can occur in PD which limits range of motion (ROM) & mobility
– We work to improve your ROM to increase mobility and decrease the pain

• PREVENT HETEROTOPIC OSSIFICATION (HO)
– Continued full range of motion reduces the risk of bone forming where it shouldn’t

• AWARENESS OF LIMITS TO PREVENT FATIGUE SET BACKS & MONITOR CORE BODY TEMPERATURE
– We understand when catering your program for MS we must be hyper aware to prevent a rise in core body temperature or to fatigue or stress your body that may generate a setback
– Our goal is to create a program that works for YOU
